The Elloree Commission of Public Works was established in 1924, and provides water and sewer services to approximately 650 customers, serving an approximate population of 1450 people. Water for the Elloree Water System is supplied by three wells, and the wastewater facility uses treated land application.

The Elloree Water System requires a Security Deposit of $100.00 to secure timely payment of monthly charges on all new customer accounts. New accounts must be in the name of the lessee or property owner and will also require a non-refundable service charge of $50.00 to establish service.

Existing customers who are in good standing and have an established security deposit of $100.00 moving from one location to another shall pay $15.00 in-town cut on fee or $20.00 out of town cut-on fee.

When service is disconnected for non-payment, a disconnect fee is required, along with payment in full of past due balance. The reconnect fee shall be $30.00

Any checks returned for insufficient funds shall be charged $25.00.

Welcome to the Elloree Water System’s virtual home. We welcome all existing and new customers to our page, where you can find information on our water and sewer service, rates, and service fees, as well as information on the Water System’s officials and staff.

The Elloree Water System is governed by three Water Commissioners, all of whom are elected by the voters of Elloree for six-year terms. Our current Commissioners are Chairman Jane C. Singh, E. Everett Gasque, and William G. “Bill” Irick, Jr.

Water Commission meetings are open to the public and are held in the Water System meeting room on the second Tuesday of each month at 6:00pm.

Larry McDowell is the current General Manager for the Water System, and he is assisted by our Water and Sewer Superintendent Donald “Fuzzy” Jones, Sr. and technician Harry Lee Brigmon.

Our office is staffed by Clerk Linda Williams and is located at 2623 Cleveland Street. The office is open on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 8:30am-12:30pm and 1:30pm-5:30pm. It is open on Thursdays from 8:30pm-12:30pm.
